In US news and current events today, her’s how RBG became a living legal legend. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated first in her class from Cornell University and studied law at Harvard and Columbia. She was the first woman on both Harvard and Columbia law reviews.

RBG was appointed to the D.C. federal appeals court by Jimmy Carter in 1980. She survived colon cancer in 1999 and pancreatic cancer in 2009. She is known for her fiery dissenting opinions.
